Why has Physical Therapy been recommended?
You likely have a musculoskeletal problem that affects your ability to perform daily activities such as
household care, recreational activities or sports. The goal of physical therapy, simply put, is to restore
function.
What will happen at my initial Physical Therapy session?
You will receive a private consultation with a licensed Physical Therapist. This visit involves a chance
to talk about your problem and how it has affected your life. You will have ample opportunity to ask
questions and express any concerns you have.
What typically takes place during a follow-up session?
You will receive instruction and guidance regarding a clinical and home based exercise program which
is continually modified to meet your individual needs. You may also receive machine based treatments
and hands on techniques to reduce pain and restore joint mobility.
How long will I be in physical therapy?
It depends on your specific injury, your rate of recovery and your personal commitment to your home
exercise program.
