She began her career in health care as a certified nurses’ aid in 1999 where she worked in her father’s family practice. It was there that Carolyn knew she wanted to eventually become a primary care provider. Carolyn received her Associate degree in nursing in 2015 from Beaufort County Community College (Washington, NC), where she was president of her class. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colorado Technical University in 2019 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She went on to receive her Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner. Carolyn maintains board certification (FNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

A typical day for Carolyn includes assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients in the primary care setting, including both chronic and acute care concerns. Carolyn believes knowledge is power which is why she values the importance of patient education and strives to inspire her patients. From her love of the healthcare profession to her empathetic nature as a driving force, Carolyn remains steadfast in her abilities and passionate for her role as family nurse practitioner.

Carolyn is the proud mother of one son, Dawson. She loves spending time with friends and family when not working at Southern Colorado Clinic. She also enjoys cooking, painting, drawing, singing, playing guitar or piano, camping, and watching movies.
