
Jaymie Ownbey, DPT
Physical Therapy
Jaymie Ownbey is from Lake Mills, Wisconsin where she grew up active in sports, outdoor activities and soccer. She completed her undergraduate studies at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX in Exercise Science and Biology while playing on their Women’s Collegiate Soccer Team. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in 2009 emphasizing her studies in orthopedics and sports medicine. After moving to Pueblo, she has continued her education emphasis in these fields with certifications in Trigger Point Dry Needling and a variety of taping, functional exercise, and athletic injury prevention and rehabilitation programs. She has also gained certifications in the treatment of Lymphedema and balance and vestibular disorders. Jaymie is an active member of the Sports and Orthopedic Sections of the American Physical Therapy Association so that she can continue to stay current with clinical evidence and practice methodology.
At Southern Colorado Clinic, she is now the Director of the Rehabilitation Department and Coordinator of Clinical Education giving back to the profession by serving as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students and actively participating in community outreach opportunities for athletic injury prevention. Jaymie continues to remain an avid participant in athletics serving as a soccer coach for local clubs. She continues to enjoy spending her weekends spending time in the outdoors with her husband, William, her little boy, Alex, and her three dogs.
