Born in San Antonio, Texas to an Air Force pediatrician and an elementary schoolteacher, Dr. Simerville was raised on various bases in the US and Europe, before his family settled in Colorado Springs in the late 1970s. He graduated from Rampart High School and attended Colorado College, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He attended Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC and completed residency training in Phoenix, Arizona where he participated in a combined internal medicine and pediatric residency program at Maricopa Integrated Health System and Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He has been practicing medicine in Pueblo since 2006. Dr. Simerville is committed to improving the potential of future generations by working to improve the health of children, their families, and their communities. His commitment to the health of the community does not stop at primary care. He has advocated to the city council to endorse the lead abatement in the Eilers Neighborhood, served has the chair of the Pueblo County Breast Feeding Coalition, sits on the Pueblo County Pediatric Mortiality Review Committee and has served on numerous hospital committees and leadership positions. His hobbies include Sport Climbing, Mountaineering, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Skiing, Snowshoeing, and Astronomy. He loves to teach and has been recognized numerous times for his teaching abilities by the Southern Colorado Residency Program. He is excited be opening a practice in Pueblo West where he can bring his model of patient-centered, collaborative, whole-person care to the people of this community. He accepts patients of all ages and accepts all insurances.
